Salt Hill Cider had a bit of an ego boost recently; we won the South East regional award at the CAMRA national judging competition which was held at Reading Beer Festival over the Bank Holiday weekend. It was nice to get recognition for our cider and vindication for sticking to our core values of using only local fruit and totally natural fermentation. As regional winners Salt Hill Cider went through to the final which was won by Sheppy’s of Somerset.

Our Merry England cider will now be available at a new pub which is very local to Salt Hill; The Garibaldi is the last remaining pub in Chalvey and is now being run by Dan who is doing a sterling job of turning around the fortunes of the pub. Formerly a lager and Strongbow pub Dan is keen to make a real change and is going to be stocking two real ales as well as Salt Hill Cider throughout the year.

At this time Merry England is also available at The George in Burnham, The Jolly Farmer in Cookham Dean and also at Binghams Brewery shop in Ruscombe near Twyford. More pubs and Beer Festivals will be added through the coming months and I will try to update information regularly.
